Awesome Eyeliner! Review and Infoze!

OK, how about a little cheapy treat? I need to tell you about my new current favorite product of all time for the moment. I got this eyeliner, see... Yeah. It's e.l.f. (shocker, I know), and it is just an extraordinary product.

The Essentials Waterproof Eyeliner Pen (2$ each!) is not like any other eyeliner I've ever had. I don't know if it's the applicator tip or the liquid's chemical makeup or what, but I've never used anything like it. It's not exactly a liquid liner, but it's definitely not a pencil. It's filled with a thick, inky liquid like regular liquid liners, but you don't dip a brush into a pot of paint to apply it, and it doesn't act like liquid eyeliner at all. It's like all pigment or something... closer to a henna, maybe, than anything else; it's really hard to describe. But it. is. awesome.

CORSET DEAL SALE!!

Now, I've written off Corset Deal, but my silent useless protest if over prices and not any other grievance. They USED to be absolutely amazing. They sold (and still do sell, mind you) PROPER corsets - steel-boned, high-quality, corsets made of durable yet beautiful fabric - at astoundingly low prices. These are NOT fashion corsets just for show. I'm talking a serious reinforced satin underbust waist cincher WITH a cute little matching skirt for FIFTEEN DOLLARS. Or a gorgeous, sturdy brocade corset with solid metal hardware for THIRTY BUCKS. Or a real leather overbust with stunning detail (and that cute matching skirt, too) for less than 100 bucks. This was the place where merchants at ren faires purchased their stock to resell for 120+$.

It seems like they were bought out, though, because several months ago their website got a major redesign and lo! suddenly their prices jumped by 4-5 times and they match every other retailer's now. What used to sell for 15-40$ now sells for the standard 80-120$. Alas. The cheapest corsets they currently have going are painfully plain solid color overbusts for 40$ on sale - but hey, at least they're still steel boned. AND it seems the bastards don't do the matching skirt anymore at all! Those amazing wholesale-esque prices simply cannot be found anymore.

BUT BUT BUT! This sale is about halfway back to the glory days prices. They do have more variety now, too, so it's worth a look if you're in the market (who isn't?!?!). Notably, their supply of "steampunk" type stuff has skyrocketed, which some people will applaud. I can't attest to the quality of their newer stuff, though, as I have refused to buy from them since they changed, but from what I can tell the stock is mostly the same; I see a lot of the same items that they used to carry. And the staples that were always there were most definitely sturdy. They still include the schematics for most of their corsets, so it looks like they're probably as serious about quality as they used to be.

Even though they don't offer legit corsets for stupidly cheap anymore, this current sale looks like better prices than you'll find most places. It's not a throwback to the glory days, but they've got some good deals going right now. If you're in the market for a corset, then you know how soul-crushingly expensive they can be, but this sale can offer you a bit of relief. Check it out!

Edit: HOLY COW! I just took a closer look at their leather selection, and even their non-sale prices are some of the best around! If you're looking for a leather corset, get over there now!!

I've been neglecting you, I know. I'm sorry, and I missed you too. But I have excuses!! I had to plan and then go through with a wedding and a honeymoon! Yap, I got married. It was pretty cool, and, naturally, done on the cheap. (Maaaaybe I'll do a post on it some day!) I married myself a rocket scientist... no joke! Well, actually, he'd tell you that, ahem, he's a missile scientist, and that's harder and more complicated than rocket science. He IS by far the smartest person I've ever met. He's also somehow simultaneously cute and sexy as well as funny and just the right kind of nerdy, like me.

I have had Bare Minerals Mineral Eyeshadows for years now. They're pretty good! But I picked up several of e.l.f.'s mineral eyeshadows in their recent 50% off sale so that I could compare them.

What do you think? Will the CHEAP product hold up to the one that costs 5x the price??

Been ILL... so sick... since about Thursday, and I think I'd been fighting it off for about a week before that. I finally managed to get up for a bit (to go to the drugstore, honestly), and I decided to take a shower and put on some makeup to try and feel human again. Turns out it's 100% e.l.f. products (from my latest haul... that I am STILL trying to find the strength to edit - I'm sorry yall). I'm actually happy with it. Maybe I'll post the products I used some day... I can't tell if I nailed the contouring practice or if that's just the 5-10 pounds I've lost these past few days. LOL??? Probably not.

But shit, that was enough motion for one day. GOOD NIGHT.

My "makeup bag" - VIDEO

Remember how I'm really new to this whole wearing makeup thing? Well, once I started figuring out how to do it and subsequently discovered that makeup could be purchased quite cheaply, I acquired rather a lot of it. I outgrew my previous makeup bag, which was really just a travel case that, again, my mom got in a bonus pack and gave to me.

Do you want to see what I have now? It's HILARIOUS.

The online fashion and beauty communities lost a leader and a friend this week.

CoverGirl Talia Joy Castellano, whom you likely know as Taliajoy18 on YouTube, was a beauty vlogger, a makeup artist and guru, and an active YouTuber with millions of views and hundreds of thousands of subscribers. She didn't just teach women and girls how to put on makeup, and put it on well; she showed us how to improve our self-esteem with cosmetics, to feel good about ourselves, and to make the best of seemingly hopeless situations. So many of us got to know her through watching her sweet, funny, and damn good how-tos and tutorials, and we're all feeling the loss.

I just want to say a little something about this sweet soul and sister in beauty-blogging in case any of you were not fortunate enough to have watched her. If you're reading a beauty blog, then you've surely heard of her, especially since her passing. But if you did not have the good fortune to follow her while she was still with us...
